Once a person comes to believe whole-heartedly in the sovereignty of God, it changes everything. Ephesians 1:11 might best be translated, “God is at work your life causing every little detail to come into conformity with His will.” I don’t understand Ephesians 1:11. But I don’t have to understand it for it be true.
“Every.
Little.
Detail.”
Early on the 2nd of March, 2024, Brooke Ligertwood released this worship song recorded at Bethel: https://youtu.be/12OxYcNmvcM?si=eJgSTaRpc54mZ-IU. It contains many poignant lines, this one among them: “Bless God in the darkest valley every chance I get.” That’s what we can do once we understand the concept of the sovereignty of God. “If God is truly at work in every little detail of our lives,” (see item #1 above), then we can also take solace in the fact that there is some reason that we don’t understand… that the world will never understand. But one thing is certain: If we can just “bless God every chance we get,” one day, we will understand and everything will make sense. If you’re from YWAM today – or if you know someone who is, your assignment is to listen to this song while you study the lyrics below. Today, though we don’t understand, we bless God with you.

Pray for our friends at YWAM.

Lyrics:
… Blessed are those who run to Him
Who place their hope and confidence in Jesus
He won’t forsake them
Blessed are those who seek His face
Who bend their knee and fix their gaze on Jesus
They won’t be shaken
… Come on and praise the Lord with me
Sing if you love His name
Come on and lift your voice with me
He’s worthy of all our praise
… Blessed are those who walk with Him
Whose hearts are set on pilgrimage with Jesus
They’ll see His glory
Blessed are those who die to live
Whose joy it is to give it all for Jesus
And for Him only, oh, Jesus, all for Your glory
… Come on and praise the Lord with me
Sing if you love His name
Come on and lift your voice with me
He’s worthy of all our praise
… Come on and bring your offering
Sing if you’ve known His grace
Come on and lift up your holy hands
He’s worthy of all our praise
… Bless God in the sanctuary
Bless God in the fields of plenty
Bless God in the darkest valley
Every chance I get, I’ll bless Your name
… Bless God when my hands are empty
Bless God with a praise that costs me
Bless God when nobody’s watching
Every chance I get, I’ll bless Your name
… Bless God when the weapon’s forming
Bless God when the walls are falling
Bless God ’cause He goes before me
Every chance I get, I’ll bless Your name
… Bless God for He holds the victory
Bless God for He’s always with me
Bless God for He’s always worthy
Every chance I get, I’ll bless Your name (hey)
Every chance I get, I’ll bless Your name (oh)
Every chance I get
… Come on and praise the Lord with me
Sing if you love His name
Come on and lift your voice with me
He’s worthy of all our praise
… Come on and bring your offering
Sing if you’ve known His grace
Come on and lift up your holy hands
He’s worthy of all our praise
Yes, He’s worthy of all our praise
