Suppose God raised up a new pair of believers in your field. The wife had accepted Christ but didn’t know a single other believer on the planet. Are there dependable and trustworthy online communities of believing ladies in which she could find friendship with other Christ-followers? She’s lonely. Where would YOU send her? Please leave a comment.
I think a good practice is to start a small church on Zoom or join with others who are doing that.
I am in Austin Tx and have been working with international students here for the past 5 years. Last year my wife and I were led to help start a small house church in our apartment along with another couple. What started as a group of internationals (not all students) meeting in our home is now a hybrid, with some meeting in person and some joining via Zoom. We have a variety of small groups meeting in person and over Zoom as well. It recently occurred to me that international fellowships like this could be a great place to invite people like you mentioned; isolated from other believers and looking for a group to trust. It offers as much anonymity as they prefer, since it is on a Zoom connection yet the fellowship is in person since it is a small group.
We have even seen this international church branch into a variety of small groups in different countries (people groups). We have a group that is all Bengali, one that is Chinese and one that is Indian, all meeting over Zoom. If you want more information or if you are interested in partnering with us in starting international house/zoom fellowships, send us a message at – jim@austinif.org
If she speaks English Faithway has free Online Bible studies that offer teaching along with discussion for those who don’t have an in-person community. I have participated in several since Covid closed everything down and it has been a blessing! There is one starting next week: https://www.faithgateway.com/topics/online-bible-studies/
As a reader, I use Goodreads, and there are some Christian women-only groups on there.
