Written in the style of the Quran, this book is an enigma to me. Would you be willing to explain how it might be helpful? Has it been helpful to you? And could you also explain why it might NOT be helpful (if that’s the case)? Apparently, it has some Bible verses translated into Arabic in the formal poetic style that the Qur’an uses? Please — someone explain.

I haven’t read the book, but the reviews on Amazon were pretty negative. I don’t expect it would be that useful, but would be interested to hear other people’s views.

. I am retired from 30 years missionary service in the N. Africa, M. East area where I taught for 25 years at the Arab Baptist Theological Seminary in Beirut. I have a copy of this book. It is a Christian book written in a style to imitate the Qur’an. The word “Furqan” is a synonym for “Qur’an.” It is very high class Arabic in Qur’anic style. It would appeal to Islamic scholars and people who study the Qur’an seriously. It pre-disposes one to think critically (negatively, usually) of the Qur’an and to consider alternatives to The Qur’an as the source of truth. The English translation makes it easier for westerners to understand the thought of the book. Where it quotes the Bible it does so in the same elevated language which does not set well with those who are used to the more traditional translations. In my opinion it would be very helpful to lead a Muslim to re-think his religion and become more open to the Christian message.
