A missionary wrote recently sharing that his service provider for about 20 years – Dragonnet – was closing down. He shared, “They did such a fine job for us as we grew. … Any suggestions for who can do hosting for mid-size org or company?” Of course, GoDaddy is the benchmark by which all others are measured:
But maybe you don’t like their commercials? : )
What’s YOUR favorite?
my go-to recommendation for simple, cheap websites for ministry is: weebly.com
it depends on how complex and how granular/hands-on you want to be. if you go through a process to prove your non-profit status, DreamHost may give you free web hosting!
We’ve used WebHost4Life, DreamHost, and DiscountASP. I’m not recommending WebHost4Life anymore, as their support has really gone downhill over the years.
DreamHost has great support and the price is right.
DiscountASP is good if you need to host a Microsoft.Net site with database access.
Please consider that if you use GoDaddy, then you are supporting their “light porn” commercials and ads. We used them for years because they were so inexpensive but the Lord convicted us as their TV ads got worse and worse and we switched over to NameCheap.
I have been using Exabytes for a while. Their support is very quick and helpful and they are affordable.
We use 1and1.com, they’ve been helpful in all aspects of web (hosting, urls, etc)
