hands worshipI was recently asked to lead a Concert of Prayer at a church in southern Indiana. I guess it was Jonathan Edwards (the one at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jonathan_Edwards_%28theologian%29 who is famous for having written “Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God”) who first coined the term, “Concerts of Prayer.” He evidently saw biblical support for them in multiple passages throughout the Bible. When David Bryant came along in the 1980’s, he supported and enlarged upon Edwards’ writings with books like “Concerts of Prayer.” You can still purchase used copies at…

Using Bryant’s outlines from the book as a starting point, we added sub-sections on the Poor, the Persecuted, and those without the Presence of the Gospel (the Unreached). The 90-minute event went really fast and multiple participants told us afterward that they had never experienced prayer quite like that before.

If you had to lead a concert of prayer, what kind of outline would you use? Please click “comment” in the box following this item on the web and point us to your favorite resource. Thanks for any help you can lend!
