Are you one of the millions who have been watching the war in Syria, wishing you could make a difference, yet feeling so … ‘small’? We admit: The situation is bad. A whopping 43% (9.5 million people!) of Syria’s 22 million residents are displaced from their homes. 3 million have left Syria and are overwhelming neighboring countries. On Dec 1st, the U.N. announced that it lacks funds to continue feeding 1.7 million Syrian refugees in Jordan, Lebanon, Turkey, Iraq and Egypt. In fact, the U.N. is now calling it “greatest humanitarian catastrophe of modern times.” How can we make a difference in something that the U.N. hasn’t been able to solve?
