I’m still trying to find a ministry, mission or church which is doing social media WELL. Interestingly, no one has shared any success stories yet. Is it possible that social media has been a bit of a disappointment for all of us, as churches and agencies?
What is the definition of WELL? I can see poeple like lifechurch.tv using their app to reach the world with the Bible. Not sure if you mean the use of social media outfits such as Facebook as a mean to reach the unsaved…
Dear Brigada Friends,
Power to Change (formerly referred to as Campus Crusade for Christ, Canada) has had a joyful and meaningful experience with online digital ministry. Our vision is to lead people on a spiritual journey in the digital space. We do this through relevant and responsive content on our websites and social media streams that offers visitors the opportunity to connect with an online mentor via email or through a chat room. Last year we had over 7.3 million visits to our various sites and as a result, 16,933 people indicated praying to receive Christ — that is almost 1200 people per month!
Yes, people are engaging in spiritual conversations in the digital space. In fact, some people seem to be able to open up and share what’s on their heart more readily because of the anonymity of the Internet. They will actually tell you, “I couldn’t share this with my pastor”, or “I couldn’t share this with my family. People are coming to know Jesus, are being discipled and inspired to take up the cause of spiritual multiplication through sharing their faith with others.
Here are the main areas where we are finding success:

We welcome church and missions agencies interested in looking into working together in partnership.
We welcome individuals willing to receive online training to help fulfill the Great Commission through mentoring others, submitting articles, testimonies, and devotionals for publishing on our sites. If individuals wish to receive online training to become part of our pool of trained volunteers engaging in spiritual conversations online or by email with people from around the world, they can receive our training for free and soon be responding to people who have an expressed need.
