Just received a very strong recommendation for them from a trustworthy travel agent. (If you’ve already used them, please share a testimony in one of the comment boxes following the web version of this item.) If you have other, perhaps more preferred services, please share them too. For example, in the past, we’ve used…

I recently used Visa Passport Pro based on a recommendation from our group’s office manager in a country that requires US passport holders to purchase a visa and that is known to reject workers like us. His advice was based on past success, but not necessarily a comparison with other similar services. Whether Visa Passport Pro is the best service or not, I don’t know, but they did a very orderly and expedited process that got my visa to me a day less than they predicted (which might be a “surprise and delight the customer” strategy). I contacted them using the number on the Web site, and from there everything went fast. There are some negative comments about them in Web-based reviews, but I certainly have nothing to complain about. At least three, and possibly four, people were involved in the process: the person I talked with on the phone, a handler who called me back to make sure that I understood everything correctly (a very nice touch), a second handler to whom I Fedexed the papers, and (I suspect) a fourth person who actually took my passport into the consulate to interface the consulate. I got the impression these guys are all about hustle —which is exactly what I needed and chose to pay for (i.e. expedited service).
My agency has used TravelDocs for several years, but I had my first experience this past winter when I needed last minute visas to 2 countries in West Africa. It was SO EASY. Their processing fee is completely worth the cost because they navigate the differing processes in various countries, and they solve any problems that arise. Regardless of the travel service you select, a good one is COMPLETELY worth the additional cost.
I’ve used with great success for 15 years: http://www.world-visa.com
