This is a class of services that, frankly, I haven’t ever tried. However, a regular Brigada contributor from North Africa has strongly recommended Google Reader
as one of the best in this class. He explained that this was effectively a free blogging tool. He added that there was also a free tool for commenting on regular web pages that don’t have RSS feeds. Sounds great for those who do reading like this regularly.
Google Reader was discontinued months ago. Use http://www.feedly.com instead.
I just tried google reader and it is discontinued as the previous comment said.
Hard to believe that one got listed at all. It’s been gone a good long while. Either Feedly as Bernhard suggested or Feedspot, http://www.feedspot.com . Both are very mature RSS feed readers.
Windows 8 users may enjoy the Modern Reader app.
Digg made an RSS reader specifically for google users in anticipation of the shutdown. Google, which had the most minimalist look of all the readers, was junky compared to Digg Reader. Digg is just a simple, beautiful list. I tried feedly (and a half dozen others) but it was too random for me. If you’re missing google reader, try Digg.
