File the widened ‘polarization tip’ off the one prong of the plug so it’ll plug into the 220 V. British (round prong) tip adaptor. Use the brown extension cord not only to bring the electric closer to you (in rooms that only have 1 plug for the whole room), but also to multiply the plug so you can charge your a) laptop, b) smartphone or iPad, c) digital camera battery all from the same cord. Many rooms will have only one plug. You won’t want to have to decide which unit to charge. If you’re lucky enough to be able to charge all your devices through USB ports (reducing the number of AC outlets you need), you’ll still be glad you have it for the times there are multiple group members who need power. USB-type charging is a great feature, whenever you can use it. Just get all this stuff sorted out BEFORE you depart so you can utilize your trip-time for people instead of devices.
What about adapter plugs? I’ve had two, and prefer the round-ish multiple adapter originally made by a Swiss outfit. It goes everywhere.

I carry an international multi-plug extension cord. Besides charging all those devices in your room your missionary colleagues from various countries will love that a number of you can plug in together to the only receiptical in the conference/ meeting room.
Although they are not found in the US it is worth looking for where you find Chinese products at an multinational destination. Mine were found in Africa. One that was too cheap required soldering its internal connections but has remained reliable for about 10 years of rough travel.
My strong recommendation is a Monster Power-to-Go cord, which runs roughly $10 at Amazon.com. It is small & light and turns 1 outlet into 4. I used to carry multiple adapters. Now I only need 1, which I use with my Monster Power-to-Go cord. Highly recommended. There is also a version that includes USB ports.
I like the Monster Outlets-To-Go strip. It has 3 AC outlets and an USB port. Question: It’s listed as 110V, but will it work on 220/240V or will it immediately fry itself and everything plugged into it? (I know that one would need an adapter to convert the plug style to the local style.)
