That’s right. Your eyes don’t deceive you. Remind me again how much free space you get with Google? 15 gig, right? What if we said you could get about 66 times that much space with a competitor? Well, as Brigada reader Charles pointed out to us this past week, a free terabyte is exactly what Flickr is now offering. And, as they say, that’s “Biggr, Spectaculr (because your pictures are shared in full resolution), and Wherevr (because your pictures will be available anywhere you go).” Their smartphone apps are great too. “Any device, any screen, any friend, and any follower.” Learn more at..
(Thanks for pointing out the free terabyte, Charles!)
You’re very welcome. I’m using our free terabyte to back up our half-a-terrabytes worth of photos and videos from the past five years of Myanmar Hope.
Although it is a slow process, when I’m finished our files will be stored on external hard drives as well as “in the cloud.”
Here’s hoping that Flickr stays in business, and that they don’t start charging for all that space!
Just be aware you can’t bulk upload pictures from your phone or tablet using the Flickr app. You have to be on a computer to really manage photos. Or you can use a third-party app. My phone (HTC) has a Flickr option that allows bulk uploads.
Has anyone read into the privacy details? For example, do pictures basically become *theirs* when uploaded to Flickr?
