Mac users have long held that Accordance is the best Bible software – period. According to David, a Brigada participant, it is “beautifully done, filled with resources, and has features not found elsewhere.” The great part is — Windows users, who have had to use the product through an emulator, will soon be able to buy a Windows-specific model. (Thanks David!)
You can buy Accordance (or Logos or BibleWorks) and spend hundreds of dollars for pretty decent programs, some newer titles and quite a few that are in the public domain. Or, you can get theWord from Costas Stergiou’s site (www.theword.net) for free and populate it with 1,000’s of titles from his site and from others (twmodules.com, etc). We’re using this wonderful free software to equip hundreds of African pastors and church leaders with Bible study libraries for the cost of a flash drive. Yes, I’ll occasionally make a donation to help out as anyone who uses the program should. As Costas puts it – the Word should be free.
Thanks for bringing my attention to theWord, Darryl – and to Doug & David for letting us know about Accordance coming out for Windows.
Question: Do either of these have mobile versions?
