Here’s a Brigada reader wondering if we know any good tax-preparers who will take care of preparing tax returns for missionaries at a reasonable fee. Can you refer someone who understands form 2555 (Foreign Income Exclusion) and everything that goes with it? If so, please leave a comment following the web version of this item. Thanks in advance for any help you can give.

Jeff Wood, who works at Compassion International in Colorado Springs, Colorado, prepares hundreds of tax returns for missionaries, pastors and Christian workers. I have used he and his wife Carol for years. They are very efficient, prompt and reasonable.
[removed because he’s currently not taking any new clients]
Here is the contact info of a man who was a tax auditor, then a missionary for years, and now he is back in the states doing missionary taxes!!! He knows this tax thing from both sides! He makes it easy and his rates are very reasonable!
[removed, since this gentleman no longer helps with taxes]
Karen Cox (minister’s wife in Vanceburg, KY) owns a tax service specializing in minister and missionary tax preparation. She does have experience with foreign tax preparation. Contact her at karencoxtax@hotmail.com.
Sherri Reynolds at justtaxes1040@frontier.com has been doing ours for years. She started working with pastors and is also familiar with what investments we can use/not use depending on our time in the country.
When I assumed the presidency of the Association of Christians Ministering among Internationals in 2000, CPA Bret Willoughby successfully negotiated the waiver of tax return penalties/fees ACMI had with the IRS that I inherited. ACMI has since used Bret’s services each year. Bret’s firm prepared 400 returns for US expatriates from 85 countries last year. He is a former missionary and services the overseas missionary community. For more info, contact Bret at: 1040admin@tax911.com
I will add to the reply left by someone else about Bret Willoughby. He has done my taxes for over 15 years including many years when I lived overseas. I know many others who also use his services. He is professional, knowledgable, and cares about his clients. I could not more highly recommend Bret!
You can contact Bret at 1040admin@tax911.com
This year I returned from more than 2 decades abroad and was behind with my USA tax knowledge. I got the right help from Randy Bradbury who only works on missionary tax returns. You can email him for a free quote: missionarytaxandconsulting@gmail.com
