We’ve mentioned them before and they’re still hard at it. DramaShare continues to grow and serve folks all over the world. They have written many scripts in the missions theme and, what’s more, they now have a “DramaBlog” to prompt discussion and creativity on skits, scripts and more. Find it all at:
or, in the USA, call toll-free 1-877-DO-DRAMA (363-7262). They have shared their work with over 6,000 ministries in 74 countries around the world, distributing royalty free scripts, How-to Manuals, workshops and other resources.
I’m thankful for the drama share resource. It’s great for the culture that it’s intended for. Since these scripts are also going around the world, I just want to mention the idea that training local actors to think about cultural problems, wrestle with what Scripture has to say to their typical life questions and difficulties, and portray how a Christian lives and resolves crises, will produce more relevant drama than using another culture’s scripts. It’s harder than translating a Western scene, but worth it.
