If so, be sure to contact Insurance Services of America. They are a Christian organization that specializes in helping individuals and groups find affordable health insurance options. They can put together a “tailor-made” plan to fit your group’s needs. 3. VIDEO RESOURCES FOR PRESENTATIONS AND PUBLIC SPEAKING — Check out Wing Clips. They offer a digital download service of feature film clips for pastors and teachers. They have a premium service ($14.95/mo) and a free service. Check them out.

  4. LEARN TO RAISE SUPPORT — Here’s a comment from a recent participant in the Kingdom Come Training course in missionary partnership development: “…The course allowed us the opportunity to craft our ministry presentation under expert guidance. But more importantly, it helped us anchor our efforts in Biblical principles with proven results.” All you need is high speed internet. KCT will send you the webcam equipped laptop with professional video conferencing software and you join a live, interactive course with two other locations. 5. COULD “HONOR” OPEN UP CULTURES TO THE GOSPEL? — After 5 years of being out of print, “The Power of Honor,” by Fawn Parish, is back! Conversations Press will give a $1.00 for every book ordered by Brigada readers. If you order before Christmas, they’ll offer a discount, but better act immediately. You may go to

    http://www.powerofhonor.com to order

    or email fawn(at)reignbridge

  6. BRINGING ATTENTION TO THE DIMILI KURDS — Tim is working on his Masters Thesis which is taking the form of a website focused on the unreached Dimili Kurds of Turkey. The website will focus on directing prayer for this people group as well as mobilization. He is seeking any information related to work being done with them (feel free to withhold sensitive information, but regardless, all sensitive information will of course be kept confidential), progress of any bible translation etc or a recommendation of resources that would be helpful in his research. Once the website is completed he will send the Brigada family a link so we can all pray together for this people group. He can be contacted with information or questions at dimilikurds(at)allpeoples

  7. LOOKING FOR MORAL BEHAVIOR RESOURCES — Here’s a Brigada participant that is charged with teaching behavioral expectations to her organization’s new candidates. The resources her group has for helping new members understand these behavior parameters are seriously out of date. Before they start a major project they would like to know if any of your groups have some materials that would be instructional, using updated technology and Bible based. If you have any resources that can be shared or know of materials available please log on and share all you can at:

  8. THANKS TO THE DIFFERENCE-MAKERS! — This past week, we rec’d $15.13 from Blessed Hope in the name of those using their phone services during June & July; See

    http://www.lowermyphonebill.com/brigada/

for ideas on how to lower your bill! $50 from an anonymous long-term participant in Budapest, Hungary $50 from a partner on the East Coast $100 from a great friend in Sweden $300 from YWAM in Lebanon, PA Thank you to these partners and those hooking up with them! This, added to last edition’s total of 8,452.77, brings our 2007 total to $8,967.90. This is still quite a ways from our goal of $17,150. Gifts in 2006 added up to $15,096. :-( Is there anyone out there that could step up to the plate with a larger one-time gift from an inheritance or some other fund? If you could even get us *closer* to the ball park, we’d greatly appreciate it.

  9. WOULD YOU MAKE A GIFT WHEN OTHERS CAN’T? — Some live in circumstances that essentially do not permit them to give to help make Brigada tick. Would you be able to give something on their behalf? If so, just click on the “Donate” page. We’ve made progress, but still need the following gifts to meet our needs…

    1 of 1 1000 (1 gift of $1000)
    3 of 5 500 (3 more gifts of $500)
    9 of 250 2500 (9 more gifts of $250)
    10 of 13 100 (11 more gifts of $100)
    23 of 27 50 (26 more gifts of $50)
    60 of 70 25 (60 more gifts of $25)

You can pull the money from your PayPal account or from any major credit card. Or if you prefer, send a check payable to Team Expansion to: Team Expansion (Brigada secretary), 13711 Willow Reed Dr., Louisville, KY 40299. (Team Expansion is a 501(c)3 incorporation so for USA citizens, your checks made out to Team Expansion are tax-deductible.) As always, be sure to let us know if you’d like us to promote any particular service or ministry, or if you’d prefer your gift be anonymous. And thank you in advance for helping.

  10. THE BACKPAGE: HOW DO YOU RECONCILE THESE 2 SCRIPTURES? — My boys asked me a pretty tough question today. Frankly, I need your input. They pointed to Paul’s admonition in Romans 13:1, stating that “Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. … He who rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted…” Add to that I Pet. 2:13: “Submit yourselves for the Lord’s sake to every authority instituted among men: whether to the king, as the supreme authority, or to governors, who are sent by him to punish those who do wrong and to commend those who do right.”

They then asked how to reconcile that passage with a nation’s willingness to intervene when another government was committing genocide, whether in the Balkans, with Hitler, or in Darfur. They felt pretty strongly that Hitler had to be stopped. So they couldn’t understand (or ‘explain away’) the verse in Romans 13:1. Can you help me explain these verses to them? If so, please log on at…
