BRIGADA LATE THAN NEVER!!! :-)
In the Brigada Accounting Office, we’ve made an adjustment in your subscription fees since this issue comes to you on Monday (instead of the normal Friday) . . . but as they always say, “Brigada late than never!”
[TRUTH IN ADVERTISING:
a) NOT!
b) There are no fees for Brigada anyway and
c) my family and I were on a week-long camping trip to the woods of northern Ohio and for the life of me, I couldn’t find a single RJ-11 plug in any of those hickory trees! :-)
Sorry about the late copy, but the fresh air and thunderstorms were great! :-)

DID YOU KNOW… (FUN FACTS TO KNOW AND TELL)
…that if you had been collecting previous issues of Brigada Today in 10 point Courier New since the first edition (which we reckon as being Feb. 18, 1995), that today’s email would have shoved you well over the 250-page mark???

WANNA BE A GUINEA BISSAU ADVOCATE??? WANNA MEET ONE???
Wanna simply know where the place is??? :-) Guinea Bissau is a small West African country of 1.1 million people. It is to the immediate south of Senegal. Though some mass evangelism has been done, only 1% are Christian. About 8% of the people are literate. The gospel came to GB only 60 years ago and today a small but strong church exists. At present God has provided a wide open door of missions opportunity. There are still several unreached tribes, and the government is very receptive of the Good New of Jesus Christ.

LEAD International Ministry Network is seeking to put together an International Partnership for prayer support and ministry to Guinea Bissau. Its leaders will seek to provide access to anyone interested in ministry to this country. They have extensive relationships with the existing missions works, church leaders, and governmental officials. Their job is to find out who wants to blaze the trails and help them connect.

Contact them c/o USA Tel. (360) 254-5198, Fax (360) 254-7621 or EMAIL to Mike Blondino 102627.300@compuserve.com.

UNDER-WEB
From the lands “down under” (New Zealand to be more precise), check out http://www.cmd.org.nz/, the new homepage for the Centre for Mission Direction, a centre for world mission based out of New Zealand). And for those viewing the site from north of the equator, contrary to the rumor, the images do not appear upside-down on your screen. :-) However, I am curious as to whether or not the water spins the opposite direction when headed down the shower drain down there! :-) We’ll try to do some research on that and report it in next week’s “Did you know…” column.

ACTS-FACTS
More options for those wishing to further their academic degrees via email — ACTS is a consortium of Believers’ Church seminaries affiliated with Trinity Western University. Located in Langley, British Columbia, Canada, ACTS has been in the business of offering quality Graduate Theological Education for the past eight years. Check ’em out at http://www.twu.ca/acts/acts.html or write Mike Fast mifast@fcmr.com. Or if you want fast ACTS-shun, enroll directly with the ACTS Admissions Officer, Mr. Tom Peachey, peachey@twu.ca.

MISSION-WATCH KEEPS ON TICKING
Have you ever sampled the MissionWatch Report, a bi-weekly report produced by Kingdom Ventures with the association of a network of NRMs, SCs, and People Group Advocates? It generally contains some great stuff on “World A” (the least evangelized). You can see its archives at http://www.goshen.net/gem/justin/justin.htm. We’ve used a couple of its items in Brigada Today over the past months and Justin Long has just offered to allow Brigada readers to subscribe free of charge! If you’re interested, send a message to hub@xc.org with single line
subscribe missionwatch

in the body of the text. Postal delivery will remain $25/USA, $50/International. The MissionWatch reports breaking events in every World A country every two weeks, plus contains additional information on resources and projects.

SHARE JOSHUA PROJECT 2000 WITH YOUR “PALS”
Now, if you use alternative video systems like PAL (Europe) and SECAM (French), ProclaMedia can help by making it available in any format you choose. Plus you can still get it in NTSC (USA). In all cases, the special price of $9.95 still stands. In addition, for orders of fifty or more (any system) at $5.00 each (plus shipping), they can do this really cool thing where they actually put your ministry’s name and address at the end of the video. (For the record, we understand that this was an AD2000 idea so you can promote your own ministry while promoting the needs of the least evangelized. Hey… those guys at the AD2000 Int’l Office are no dummies, are they! :-))

ACMC NATIONAL CONFERENCE
Ken Campbell of ACMC (Advancing Churches in Missions Commitment) just wrote to remind us that “the ACMC National Conference time is upon us: WHEATON – JULY 18-20.” He’s given his personal promise: “It’s almost guaranteed NOT to be as hot as it was last year. It IS almost guaranteed to be SIZZLING HOT with ideas and speakers that will feed and refuel you for your missions responsibilities. It IS an annual Opportunity to network and connect people and ideas for the future. Want to start a four-alarm fire for missions in your place? — come to the ACMC National Conference.” For more info or registration, USA callers can dial 800-798-ACMC or anybody can e-mail 76331.2051@compuserve.com.” (Don’t announcements like this just burn you up??? :-)) Thanks Ken!

GLOBAL GLIMPSE FROM SUDAN
In Sudan, a country where many Christians are harshly persecuted, an Islamic teacher and priest (Imam) acknowledged that he converted to Christianity at the end of 1995. He explained that nobody has yet challenged his decision “because they all know me and are well aware that I understand Islam very well; they realize that I must have good reasons for converting.” Following his example, other Moslems have also converted, and he leads a group for Moslems wanting to learn more about Christianity.

Global Glimpses are compiled each week by John Hanna, Caleb Project, Littleton, CO.
