- ORGANIZERS CONTINUE TO FINE-TUNE NEW TOOL — Organizers continue to fine-tune the “new tool” we mentioned in “NEW TOOL PRODUCES PRESENTATION NOTEBOOKS” (Jan 17 and Jan. 24th Brigada Today). They want to have 1000 copies of the CD dubbed by March 1st so they’ll be able to ship immediately. Stay tuned to Brigada Today to learn more about the product, as well as how to get special Brigada Pricing during it’s introduction to the Brigada audience. The most recent addition to the CD? They’ve now added every digital copy of a *very* well known missiology magazine. You’re going to like this one! :-)
- NEW SUBSCRIBERS: 200 NEW PARTICIPANTS SINCE JAN. 10 — Thanks to all those who continue to promote Brigada Today among their constituencies, members, family and friends. Remember, it’s incredibly easy to sign up. Just send a blank email to: brigada-today-subscribe@yahoogroups.org Thanks! In case anyone asks, since January 25, 1995, not a single email address or identity has been divulged to any outsider. What’s more, we pledge to never sell your address at any point in the future! We’re now up to 13,007 total subscribers (with about 5,000 addresses bouncing on any given week).
- MISSIONS FRIENDS: STAY AT A LOVELY CABIN IN COLORADO — Here’s a Brigada friend and business missionary making a luxury cabin on his ranch available again this year for missionaries and pastors and their kind. He does have a suggested small maintenance donation, but even it goes into the ministry. A former B&B, it was described as “Elegance and the Wild West.” For the author, philosopher, meditator, recluse, or the very poor, he offers a hand-hewn “survival cabin” in a very quiet place away from it all at no charge…UNelegance and the Really Wild West.” Inquire of <johnwayne@global-d.biz> or <carolyn@global-d.biz>. </carolyn@global-d.biz>johnwayne@global-d.biz>
- CHRISTIAN COMICS TRAINING IN MEXICO CITY — The COMIX35/ROX35 ministry will be leading another Christian comics seminar in Mexico on March 21-23, 9:30am to 6:00pm, hosted by Misión Latinoamerica de México (MILAMEX). This is their only comics training scheduled for the Americas in 2003. The seminar is aimed at Christian writers or artists and other literature ministers who need training in the specifics of creating Christian comics for evangelism and discipleship. An average course includes such sessions as Writing & Scripting, Storymapping, and Illustrating from a Script & Visual Storytelling. Attendees do not need to be illustrators. The instructors will be internationally known cartoonist Nate Butler and Mexican illustrator Eric Olarte, with Canadian cartoonist Todd Byers as a teaching assistant. The course will be taught in English and Spanish, with translation. Space is limited so please contact MILAMEX as soon as possible at <ccmprisma@aol.com>. You may send emails in either Spanish or English. In Mexico you may telephone MILAMEX at 55 5659-6930. To learn more about the COMIX35/ROX35 training ministry, visit their web site at http://www.comix35.org or email them <comix35@comix35.org>. </comix35@comix35.org>

- TESOL TRAINING FOR THIRD-WORLD MISSIONARIES — Does anyone have any experience of providing TESOL training for missionaries who have English as a second or third language themselves? If so, the workers at a Melanesian Centre for World Missions in Papua New Guinea would like to know. They pledge to collate it for anyone interested. Write to <mscm@cltc.ac.pg>. </mscm@cltc.ac.pg>
- CATS, DOGS, & MISSIONS? — Does ‘Meology rather than Theology’ cloud your mission vision? ACMC’s (Advancing Churches in Missions Commitment) Bob Sjogren & Dr. Gerald Robison base their new book Cat & Dog Theology on a simple joke about the differences between a cat and a dog. This joke shows us the difference between “us living for God,” versus “God living for us!”, pointing us to our call to see God’s heart for all nations from Genesis to Revelation. Cat & Dog Theology retails for $9.99, but Brigada readers can get a discounted price of $7.99, or if you prefer, contact them for bulk or wholesale pricing. If you want special Brigada pricing, refer to quote BRI03 when ordering. To order call toll-free 1-866-732-6657 (USA & Canada), 706-554-1594 (Overseas), fax 706-554-7444 or email <order@omlit.om.org>. </order@omlit.om.org>

- KNOW OF A VIDEO DESIGNED TO WIN MUSLIMS? — If so, an organization in Germany would like to find out about it. Email them at: <106370.3020@compuserve.com>. (If you’re concerned about security, forward your information to someone in the clear and have them relay it on to the Germany email address.) The ultimate goal for this quest is to create apologetic videos that scratch an itch where one doesn’t exist, so this German group is trying to get an idea of what exists so far. Thanks!
- MISSIONS FEST VANCOUVER CONTINUES TO GROW — Capacity crowds met at Canada Place on January 31 – February 2nd. A 3-day estimated aggregate of 35,000 attended the 6 plenary sessions, 6 youth rallies, the 98 seminars, and visited the 230 mission exhibits. Featured speakers were Tony Campolo, Judy Mbugua, Ron Pearce, Ross Hastings and Rick Love. Web site: http://www.mfest.bc.ca
- DOCTORS & HEALTHCARE PROS: HELP WIN TEENS TO CHRIST — Impact teenagers internationally. Speak on a topic related to your profession at student assemblies in four public and private high schools a day for one week in a Latin American city. Spanish language would be an asset, but interpreters will be provided. Some media materials are available for speakers. Sample topics include Teens at Risk of Sexually Transmitted Diseases; Be Aware of Abuse; The Value of Life (cloning, abortion, euthenasia, etc.); Drug Abuse; Teen Anger Management; etc. A hispanic youth evangelist will make a moral, ethical and spiritual application after you speak. On average 340 students respond to surrender their lives to Christ in four days and are counseled by the local host church. Proclaim International, Inc. is conservative in doctrine and relationships, and has offered this service to high schools and local host churches for five years. If you’re interested, contact John via tel. (561) 394-9808 or email <proclaimhisglory@juno.com> or log on at: http://www.borderstone.com/proclaim .
- LOOKING AT THE ‘DAUGHTERS OF ISHMAEL’ — Lifting the Veil, the newest book by Dr. Phil Parshall & Julie Parshall has just been released by Gabriel Publishing. This book will not provide you with easy answers, but will prompt you to begin praying for these “daughters of Ishmael” and give you sensitive awareness to life beyond the veil. Lifting the Veil retails for $12.99. Brigada readers get a 20% discounted price $10.39, just by asking for it. Or, ask for bulk or wholesale pricing. Just tell them “Quote BRI03” when ordering.
