We asked last week what devotional or reading plan you use. Here are a few of the comments:
- https://test.sitewidgets.com/daily-office-lectionary/ which is also found here: https://habitsofgrace.org/
- Footsteps Bible Tracker App found at https://apps.apple.com/ca/app/footsteps-bible-tracker/id1219134557
- The Bible Recap podcast
- McCheyne Bible reading plan
- The Bible Project
What could you add to the list? Please comment.
I listen to The Word Diet by Eric Schansberg almost daily. Episodes are about an hour long and study a chapter a day. Folks can find it on Spotify and back up to start at the first episode, which begins with Revelation. He then proceeds with Genesis (starting at Episode 29), Exodus, Leviticus, and stopped at Numbers 11 (hoping he’ll pick it up again, soon). He does an excellent job adding important insights that regular reading might miss. And instead of planting his own favored opinion on difficult passages, he provides the listener with several views from scholars. Listeners will appreciate his wealth of information and depth.
I do my daily Bible reading via biblegateway.com. They have several plans available. They send it to my email inbox. I currently use two plans: 1) reading the Old Testament in 2 years (read one chapter a day weekdays, and 2 chapters on Saturday and Sunday), and 2) reading the New Testament in a year (read one chapter a day weekdays, no reading on weekends). As you can see, this amounts to reading 2 chapters a day every day. It works well for me.
For devotional I really enjoy Desiring God’s – Solid Joy. Either podcast or e-mail available.
