Starry Night Pro Tutorials

The following are videos sharing “lessons learned” and helpful tips for using Starry Nights, a “planetarium program” designed to simulate the night sky on your PC.

Emerald Hills Skylets examine and share great features for Amateur and Professional astronomy. They're designed to help you expand your capacity to walk the journey of exploring, analyzing, and documenting the universe. And because we "crowd-source" by seeking and distributing input from creative and entrepreneurial amateur astronomers from all over the world, maybe Emerald Hills Skylets might be of interest to you too.

My 10-line text file:
https://brigada.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/emerald_hills.txt

You can name it whatever you want. When you place it in this path:
C:\Users\right\AppData\Local\Simulation Curriculum\Starry Night 8 Prefs\Sky Data\Horizon Panoramas

IMPORTANT: You will have to replace the word "right" (in the path above) with YOUR Windows user name. For example, if your Windows user name is Fred, your path might be:

C:\Users\Fred\AppData\Local\Simulation Curriculum\Starry Night 8 Prefs\Sky Data\Horizon Panoramas

Once you place the txt file in the path, the next time you open up Starry Night Pro, your local horizon photorealistic panorama will be a choice in the list. Isn't that fun? : )

Questions? As them in the comments. I'll do my best to answer and stay up to date.

“Skylets”

Here are Emerald Hills Skies “Skylets,” which are all about the craft of amateur astronomy and especially about electronically-assisted astronomy (EAA). Watch these if you want to learn about the craft of EAA itself.
