A Brigada reader is preparing some Kingdom marketplace workers before they head overseas, and want to include something brief to address cross-cultural adaptation / culture shock. Do you have a “go to” article, video or short course you prefer? Do you offer condensed training or follow up coaching for Kingdom “job takers”? If so, please share by commenting below!
1) Cross-Cultural Preparation for Marketplace Workers
I have written a book, available on Amazon, called “Flourishing Across Cultures” (www.amazon.com/Flourishing-Across-Cultures-Step-Step/dp/B0F1MKZCJ4) which is a step-by-step guide for someone in any phase of their going journey – preparation and those already on the field. I have set the price as low as possible – I don’t care about money or recognition – I wrote this to help people
I serve as a professional coach for global workers including “kingdom job takers.” Anyone is welcome to a complimentary discovery session to clarify how coaching might best serve them, what they would like out of coaching, as well as confirm fit. Short resources and pre-field preparation can be very helpful for Kingdom “job takers,” especially in helping people anticipate some of the realities of cross-cultural transition. Thank you for doing that! Marketplace & Development Enterprises (MDE) focuses more on the ongoing side of support through coaching, mentoring, and practical guidance for Christians serving through business or professional work globally. Many workers discover that questions related to adaptation, isolation, leadership, and sustainability continue well beyond arrival, so relational support over time can make a significant difference.
