After using Quicken Classic for Windows for many years, workers are looking for an alternative finance tracking software for tracking personal and ministry expenses. It must support multi-currency and produce accurate reports by category across mixed currencies in the base currency. It needs to run well on either Apple, Android or Mac and PC devices. Any suggestions? Can you help this Brigada reader? Please comment!
2) Help!! Multi-Currency Finance Tracking Software
God bless all who labor for missions! I am right now in the midst of thinking that my local Japanese bank is taking too long and hacking off too much from my monthly remittances from NZ. Has anybody managed to actually gain while remitting across currencies? My remittances are NEW ZEALAND dollar into Japanese yen. I am unsalaried as a missionary but certainly not unsupported. God is my support for 65 years so far in Japan
Why don’t you use Wise? International bank transfers notoriously expensive. Wise allows you to transfer between currencies including New Zealand dollars and yen.
When I searched for multi-currency finance software years ago, I found Moneydance [Moneydance[dot]com] and have been using it ever since. It is multi-platform Windows/Mac/iOS/Android and reasonably priced [USD $65] for what it does. It has a free trial that actually works for up to 100 transactions, and a 90-day money-back guarantee. Information on how the multi-currency features work can be found from the Help link at the top of the main webpage, which takes you to all the support options, including a knowledge base and a user forum.
Moneydance also has a phone app so you can enter transactions on the go.
I can highly recommend Banktivity, which has a Quicken-like interface, but tracks multiple currencies very well. I currently keep track of about 20 different cash accounts, since we travel a lot.
My understanding is that Banktivity does NOT support Android.
