In Greg Frizzell’s book, How to Develop a Powerful Prayer Life, he writes about foundations for a power prayer life and why it is vital to understand them, practice them, and take care not to neglect them. Otherwise, our relationship with God will be limited, and our prayers will not be heard. He states, “When we get our praise right, God is even quicker to answer prayer!” Check it out: https://www.christianbook.com/how-to-develop-powerful-prayer-life/gregory-frizzell/9781930285002/pd/85001. 3) Developing Your Prayer Life
A book by T.C. Horton and Charles E. Hurlburt, The Wonderful Names of Our Wonderful Lord, has inspired me over the years in praise of God. The 365 names that these men highlight with accompanying Scripture have deepened my understanding of whom God is. My heart and tongue are loosened in praise when I meditate on these beautiful names of God.
Greg Frizzell emphasizes prayer as a relationship with God. He says prayer IS our relationship with God and demands committed, consistent, and significant time — more than a five-minute devotional. It is impossible to touch the different aspects of prayer — praise, thanksgiving, confession, supplication, petition, intercession — in such a few minutes. This relationship of prayer, through prayer, and in prayer requires commitment to a daily meeting with God and at least 30 minutes in order to even begin to touch all areas in the relationship. I have found over the years that the committed daily, significant patterns of prayer are what it takes to build a strong foundation of relationship with God.
